What’s a Reasonable Wedding Budget for 100 Guests?

A hundred guests is the size most people picture when they picture a wedding. Big enough to feel like a party, small enough to still be about you. Near Louisville, a wedding this size realistically runs between about 25,000 and 40,000 dollars, and couples marrying across the river in southern Indiana often come in at the lower end. The Louisville metro average works out to roughly 341 dollars a guest. Useful as a reference point, but it is not your budget. Your budget is built from choices, and here is where each one lands.

Two numbers decide everything

Guest count and per-guest cost. You have already set the first at 100. Almost every other line on the list gets multiplied by it, which is exactly why a hundred-guest wedding costs what it does. The cushion couples forget

Vendor quotes are rarely the final number. Service charges, gratuity, delivery fees, and sales tax can add 10 to 20 percent on top of what you were quoted. On a 30,000 dollar wedding that is another 3,000 to 6,000 dollars, and it is the single most common reason a budget that looked fine in spring feels tight by fall. Ask every vendor whether their price is all-in before you sign, and hold back a cushion for the ones that are not.
